A Throwback ABC?

Do you get the title?  Well, here's the down-low.  The Farm Fresh Challenge Blog is doing a throwback challenge, but this time, with a TWIST! The throwback challenge requires you to break out your "old" TGF singles, set, or kits (which let's face it...aren't that old, lol).   So what's the twist?  Make . . . Anything But a Card!  Bookmarks, altered items, notebooks, 3D projects, whatever you'd like as long as it's not a card and that you use a Throwback eligible stamp!   Click {HERE} to see the EXCLUSION LIST.

I sorta cheated here, but hey, my project fits the requirements!  :)   This is an altered wooden tissue box featuring one of the Anya's from the Miss Anya Collection.  I made not one, but 2!  My son gave these to his teachers at the end of the school year . . . yep, at the end of May.  I just never had the time to post it so here it is!  (I'll post the second one at a later time).  :)

Anya is colored with Distress Inks and also distressed all around the tissue box.  I got the idea from my sweet friend Kim - - she also made an altered tissue box some time ago and thought I'd give it a try.  Click {HERE} to see her box.  Your jaw will drop!

This is one panel.

This is the back panel.  I wanted to add these sentiments to remind the teachers that they just have to laugh.  It's so easy to get caught up in the work, dealing with certain situations, and of course, teaching the young children.  Instead of crying out of frustration, "Laugh Till You Cry"!  INSPIRE . . . I don't even have to explain that one!

And, this is the top view.  The other two panels I left plain.  Didn't want to overdo it yet I was pressed for time as well.

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST. The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice! Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Throwback Challenges> Challenge 2.  Hope you'll join us!  I luv 3D projects of any kind so I'm looking forward to seeing what y'all come up with!  Have a great weekend!

Happy Anniversary Dear!

This week over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog, we are back to playing with BLACK & WHITE with a twist . . . add a "SPLASH" of another color!  So break out that favorite accent color to go with the black & white theme.

Here's my black and while with a 'splash' of color . . . BROWN!  My hubby and I just celebrated our 12th Anniversary and this is the card I made for him.  I used Kissy Kissy (digi) . . . it was the perfect image!  Chocolate brown was our wedding color --- I did not wear a veil and had flowers in my hair just like Anya.
The intention was to keep the card clean & simple and let the image speak for itself.

Awww, a closeup of the couple.  So in luv!!!  :)  What did we do on our anniversary?  We just had a really nice dinner at home with our 3 kids.  Since the baby doesn't take a bottle, we find it very difficult to leave him with anyone for an extended period of time.   So, the hubby made dinner . . . steak, shrimp  cocktail, crab salad, toss salad, and for dessert . . . Rocky Road Ice-Cream with Nutter Butter mini cookies on top!  The dessert was actually for my kids.  :)  They were thrilled!!!  After the kids went to bed and we had a quite moment to ourselves, my hubs popped open a bottle of champagne.  He poured it into the same 2 glasses we drank out of 12 years ago.  I suppose it's our tradition but every year I tell him not to buy champagne.  I really don't like the taste of it . . . I force myself and struggle to drink the one glass to celebrate.  I would be happy sharing a can of COKE instead!  :)

Anyways, the W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Color Splash.  Come join us and thanks for stoppin' by!   :)

Celebrate . . .

It's that patriotic time of year here in the USA . . . the 4th of July!  We want to see your best 4th of July themed projects this week for our FFF over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog!  However, we don't want to leave out our non-American friends, so you are all welcomed to show your patriotic pride for whatever country you call home!  :)

Here's my patriotic card.  Do you recognize her?  I did a little altering and came up with my own Superstar Howdy Elena!  That's right . . . I took the head of Cheeky Howdy and wiped away the cherry pin that was in her hair and added the torso of Wild Sprout Elena.  The star glasses came from Superstar Anya

Quick question:  How do you celebrate the 4th of July?  If you do not reside in the USA, what do you celebrate and how do you celebrate that special event?

For our family, we usually stay home and BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers.  The kids really enjoy the sparklers, pop-pops, and firecrackers.  However, this year will be quite different.  There is a fireworks ban so I'm not sure what we'll do with the kids.  Oh, in the evening, we have the perfect view from our balcony . . . our family enjoys seeing the aerial shows and pyrotechnics!  We can see the beautiful fireworks from Magic Island (Ala Moana) to Pearl Harbor.  :)

Anyways, the FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> 4th of July.  Thanks for stoppin' by!  :)

Hey girly!

Hey there girlies!  How's your day going?  I've been real busy with family activities and we have family from out of town so haven't been blogging too much.

Well, over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog, we have a great sketch for you!  Come join in on the fun!

Here's my take on the sketch.  I used Anya from the Sunshine Kit.  Since it's summertime, I went for a summery theme.  Boy, you would think that living in Hawai`i, we always have the perfect, sunny weather.  WRONG!  It's been raining and raining and raining.  Well, up where I live anyways.  I just needed some fun in the sun.  She really puts me in a happy place.  This card is kept simple and clean.

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sketch 6.  Thanks for stoppin' by today.  I'll have another project to show you come Friday!  :)

Get Sentimental!

This week over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog, we are Gettin' Sentimental for Farm Fresh Friday. That's right!  Easy peasy!  :)  Use any sentiments you want (along with your TGF stamp) and show us what you come up with.

I don't think I can make a card without adding some kind of sentiment on it.  Well, I sure went all out with this one.  I wanted to try something totally out of my realm . . . adding lots of sentiments all in the same theme and trying to not add as many embellishments so that the sentiments would stand out.

Here's my card.  I used Anya from the Miss Anya Dressy.  She's stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with copics on Kraft.  Her apron and stockings were colored using Prismacolor pencils.  Yeah, yeah, I need practice.  Anyway, I stamped most of the sentiments in Rich Cocoa except for the "oh so Thankful" and "Gracias".  They are sentiments from the Spotlight Kit and Roll Call Kit.

The edges were painted with Distress Crackle Paint - Vintage Photo.  It was the first time I've used this color.  Not sure if it gave the effect that I wanted, but gotta try right?  I also added a little tag at the top of the card . . . yep, with another sentiment on it!  :)

Lastly, here's a close up of Miss Anya Dressy.  I just realized that I forgot to add pearls to her shoes!  YIKES!  Well, didn't I say I wanted to keep this card sorta free from embellies?

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Sentimental.

That's it for me today.  I hope y'all will have a nice weekend.  Ta-ta and see you back here next week!

With Sympathy . . .

Are you all doing well on this Wednesday?  I wanted to post this today as I will be attending a funeral service for my former boss's (Mrs. Y) daughter, who passed away at the age of 39.  She was an only child and leaves behind a daughter of her own.  Mrs. Y had also lost her husband a couple years back.  I am saddened and can't imagine the grief Mrs. Y is feeling at this time.

Here is a card that I made.  No coloring, just a simple card.  I used PTI and KaiserCraft (Script Texture) stamps inked in Pumice Stone and Tattered Rose.  Everything down to the butterflies were distressed in Antique Linen.

A close-up . . .

It's never easy to go to a funeral service.  I just pray for peace and comfort during this time for Mrs. Y and the extended family.

*********

On a side note, have you seen my new watermark and signature?  :)  I luv them both . . . they were designed by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.  She recently had her 2nd Blogaversary with a giveaway every single day!  How cool is that?  Ann was so generous and I was a recipient of not 1, but 2 giveaway days!  Woohoo!  :)  I receive 2 stamp sets (Circle Postmarks) and the other was my wonderful watermark and signature.  Thanks again Ann!  You are sooooo sweet!

Oh Where, Oh Where Is My Prince Charming?

Happy Monday!  As some of you may already know, there have been some major issues with the server over at The Greeting Farm Galleria.  Due to those technical difficulties, we are postponing the annoucement of contest winners until we can review all entries.  :)  Thanks for being patient!

Today we are CASE'ing . . . Kim Dellow!  I have had the honor of working with Kim on another DT and she is amazing at what she does!  :)  Here is her card for our Mystery Monday CASE'ing at Farm Fresh Challenge Blog:

Beautiful Kim!  Now here is what I came up with.  Oh yes, another princess is in the house!  I'm just adoring these new princesses can't you tell?

This time I went for the Royal, deep, purple velvet look.  I just can't get away from coloring the crown any other color than yellow/gold.  Princess No.03 is colored with copics and cut out with the Reverse Wonky Rectangles.  See the bigger one matted behind the image?  Well, I hand cut this shape because I need a large size.

Here's a closeup of the Princess.  I don't know if I would be smiling if my Prince Charming got lost and couldn't be man enough to ask for directions.

The Monday CASE contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.   The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!  Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Kim Dellow.

****AS OF NOW the Galleria is still down so please leave a comment with a link to your card. Please come back later in the week to recheck where to upload your projects. Sorry for the hassle and thanks!

***Don't forget! You now have two ways to play! You can either CASE the card (as the DT has done below) OR you can use it as an inspiration piece. Meaning that you can make the same style of card, use the same colors, etc, just as long as we can tell that you got your ideas from the showcased card.

Body Snatchers!

Happy and Aloha Friday!  Well, it may not be a holiday for you, but it's a holiday for us here in Hawai`i, King Kamehameha Day.

Over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog, we have a fun challenge for you!  For the FFF, we want you to practice your altering skills! We are calling this one . . . Body Snatchers!  Sounds creepy, but actually really fun!  Just take some of your favorite TGF stamps and switch around the heads and bodies to make a brand new character!  Wanna see what I came up with?

I took the head of Amelia from the new OA-Ahoy set and the torso of Ballerina Anya.  The inspiration to create another ballerina came from {HERE}. I previously created a card using Ballet Anya that was just released as a digi!  When I first saw Ballet Anya, I knew my DD would luv her 'cause she's always twirling around like a pure ballerina.  However, DD doesn't look like Ballet Anya, but more like Amelia from the OA-Ahoy set with pigtails.  So guess what?  I pulled a Body Snatchers on Ahoy Amelia and Ballerina Anya.

I'm gonna confess.  From the get go, this card was a disaster.  Yep, had the perfect idea . . . didn't quite go as I planned.  I originally wanted to stamp and color my image with copics on Kraft, which I did.  The hair got colored first and then I worked on the face.  Well, I totally screwed up Amelia's cheeks!  I don't know what's wrong with me, but her cheeks weren't proportional.  What to do?  I didn't want to toss the image . . . I luv'd how the hair came out and didn't want to redo the hair again (out of laziness and NO time!).  I decided to cut the face away from the hair and start again.  Voila!  Problem solved and cheeks on this second image are way better!

Here's a close up of Amelia Ballerina!  :)

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Body Snatchers.  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

You Make My Heart Dance . . .

Happy Hump Day everyone!  I don't know about you, but it seems like summer vaca is no summer vaca for me & my family!  We've been on the go, go, go with little rest!  This weekend is no different.

Anyway, today is W.O.W. at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.  We have a wonderful sketch for you created by our fabulous Team Captain, Rach!  Here's her sketch:

I decided to flip the sketch around for my card.  Hey, notice anything new on my card?  Hmmm, hint . . . this sweetie luvs twirling and dancing!  No, it's not Ballerina Anya.  Meet Ballet Anya!  She is not available for purchase at this time, but she may be in the near future.  I got the privilege of playing with her --- ain't she a beauty?  :)  Marie is so on it with these wonderful Princesses and this dancing princess too!

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sketch 5.  Good luck!  Thanks for coming by!  :)

It's Your Day Big Boy!

Today is Mystery Monday at Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.  I'm hosting it this week and I hope you'll be able to join us for a great CASE'ing!  :)

I've chosen Melyssa's card . . . her card just popped out and I luv all the fun, bright colors, not to mention the many layers of paper!  :)  Here's her card . . .

I hope I can do Melyssa justice!  Here's my card using Oh Boy Ian.  I didn't want to fiddle with the layout too much, just added different shapes to the layers.  I created this card for a friend's son who turned 1 last week.  His birthday party is coming up so thought I'd get a head start and make my card.  I hope he enjoys his BIG day!  :)

This is a close-up of Oh Boy Ian.  This was the first time I've used my new copic E87 and E81!  I blended it with YG95 & YG93 for Ian's pants.

The Monday CASE contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!  Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Melyssa C.

Don't forget! You now have two ways to play! You can either CASE the card (as the DT has done below) OR you can use it as an inspiration piece. Meaning that you can make the same style of card, use the same colors, etc, just as long as we can tell that you got your ideas from the showcased card.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Because I'm The Princess - A Royal Fairy Tale . . .

This week is a little different here at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog . . . we are playing along with Wednesday's Royal Challenge on The Greeting Farm's Blog which is "Fairy Tale Fun". For all the details, click {HERE}.  We are so excited to see what all you come up with :0)

Here is my card for the Royal Challenge.  I used this Princess from the Princess Collection No. 2.  Ain't she a beauty?  Ok, I'm no princess so I have to vicariously live my DREAMS through these wonderful images.  She's colored with copics and added a lot of stickle to her crown.  I know the color of her gown doesn't match the DP, but who cares!  The Princess can do no wrong and can do anything she wants BECAUSE SHE'S THE PRINCESS!  ;)

A close up.  I don't think you can see it in this picture, but I added RVOOO to her hair in the highlighted areas.

So, will you play along with us?  Just upload your creations to TGF Gallery>TGF CONTESTS/SPECIAL EVENTS>TGF Royalty>WEEK 1.  You have until Tuesday, June 7th at 8pm CST to upload your creations!   Thanks for stoppin' in!
