Mumford All Wrapped Up!

This is the closest to giving gifts as it gets . . . for now.  I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet!  What?  YIKES!  I know, last minute shopper!  I'll probably do much of my shopping in Vegas . .  you heard that right!  "I'm leaving, on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again . . ."  Anyone know that song?  MIA for 5 days ~ this coming Sunday - Thursday.  1LuvnDad will be here with the 2 munchkins (all alone poor thing!) and I'll be hanging with the girls . . . my girlfriend is getting married and this is her bachelorette party!  Woohoo!

So, to get myself in the mood of shopping for gifts and gift giving, I made up this card.  I used Teri's idea of the Origami Card.  She's so creative!  I used this digital stamp image called Mumford All Wrapped Up from Two Scoops Rice Designs.  This was a freebie so I snatched it up!  You can too so run on over and visit TSRD!

{ Do you see the tag attached to Mumford's tail?
Mum . . . get it? :) }

{ Shh . . . Mum's the word! }

To open this card, you just have to pull the 2 flaps open.  The inside reveals your message.  Cute idea yeah.  It's a box with a hidden message inside!

Well, you guessed it!  It's up for a challenge . . .

~ Stampin' Sisters In Christ Challenge #15 - Have a gift in your creation.

Ingredients?
DP & CS, green typing paper, digi Mumford, nesties, QuicKutz diecut, BLING, Red & White Fun Flock (Mumford's Santa hat), ribbons, Smirk Glitter Markers (gold and green), and Copics.

This may be my last card I make before I JOURNEY to Vegas!  I hope I get a chance to check up on all you peeps!  :)

Not my creation . . .

Today was a very busy day for me and my family.  We had lunch at Willow's with the family (19 of us total).  Had a good time eating and talking story . . . ate a bunch of my favorite dessert . . . fried haupia!!!! ONO!!!

{SHADOW}

*LITTLE PEONY*

After lunch, my Aunty G took my brother and his family, my cousin and her family, and myself along with my son to her friends house up on Wilheimina Rise.  Let me tell you, the view from up there is BEAUTIFUL!  Keep reading and scroll down for a picture of Diamond Head.

Anyway, every year, my Aunty's friend prepares a day of gingerbread house decorating.  They put this event on for 3 weeks - - 1 for the wife's side of the family, 1 for the husband's side of the family, and lastly, 1 for all their friends.  We were so fortunate to participate this year!  1LuvnDad & Little Peony went home for a nap after lunch, so it was just Shadow and I.  This is Shadow's chance to shine and CREATE!!!

{No laugh eh!  I made Little Peony a gingerbread house  . . . try like in 5 minutes!  Had to work fast because the kids were getting restless and tired!}

OMG!! This Christmas Tree was GIGANTIC!  I was in awe of the tree with all its beautiful ornaments!  Oh, forgot to mention that there were 2 other Christmas trees there too.  Well, hope you all had a great weekend!  JOURNEYING forward to another busy week! :)

Ice, Ice Anya! My Version

Alright stop!  Collaborate and listen.  1LuvnMama is back with my brand new invention . . . Sorry, showing my age.  :)
THE HANDBAG/GIFT BAG

THE CARD

I just couldn't pass up this card/project challenge!  Especially because a "local" girl is the one hosting the challenge over at Club Anya ~ Mystery Monday On ICE.  Who's this local girl?  Kris at K-lusive Kreations!  She made this awesome card using her BLUE.  You gotta check it out!

Anyway, I made my version, rendition, creation, whatever you wanna call it.  Yes, made a handbag/gift bag (I'm such a "bag lady"!) and a card to go with it.  I used the Box in a Bag technique but altered the size to create a handbag/gift bag with handles.  It measures around 6 x 6 inches.  For the card, I had to try the side step card my OCS partner (Tia) made for me.  I also tweaked the card a bit.

Again, these 2 items are up for some challenges:

~ Club Anya - On ICE!

~ Flutter By Wednesday - Circles . . . Of course, adding a butterfly, angel, or fairy.

~ C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #27 - Christmas gifts

~ LLWWC#14 - Recipe 3-2-1 . . . 3 DP's, 2 CS, & 1 embellishment { ONLY THE CARD IS UP FOR THIS CHALLENGE . . . hope I stuck to the requirements.  Wasn't sure if glitter CS counts as a DP . . . if not, oh well.  Had fun doing this project!  :) }

~ Bizzy Becs - Creatalicious Challenges #4 - snowflakes and lots of glitter!

Ingredients?
Glitter CS, Embossed Vellum (don't remember where I got this from), Mistletoe Black and White Polka Dot DP (Making Memories), White and Blue CS, snowflake punch, round tab punch, nesties, brads, gemstones, dew drops, stickles, White Fun Flock, foam popdots, ribbon, Smirk Blue Glitter Marker (for the dress), copics, and Flutter Anya.

Okay, gotta go . . . JOURNEYING off to a lunch/birthday party!  Enjoy your Black Friday all!

November OCS from Tia!

Looky what the postman delivered yesterday!  I received a card from Tia, my November OSC partner.

Happy Anya made my day!  The colors are so festive for the holidays and I just luv the side step card she used to design this card.  Here's another look from top view and side view.

Super clever!  Guess what?  I'm gonna have to try this card out!  Thanks again Tia!  Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!  Oh, to all of you as well!

Spreadin' Some Luv! My 3 Month Blogaversary Candy! *CLOSED*

Hey all!  I can't believe Thanksgiving is a couple of days away!  How will you be spending Thanksgiving?  I'll be spending my Thanksgiving with FAMILY!  Try like all day long!  ~ My mother-in-law is making lunch here at the house, then over to my parents for dinner, and another trip to 1LuvnDad's aunty's house for dessert!  The festivities continues on Friday with lunch at another aunty's house.  Phew . . . I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

Well, I realized that I started my blog on September 1st (although I started the notion of creating one in my HEAD for a long time).    I've been having so much fun with it . . . sharing my thoughts, my fun projects, my creations and whatever goes on in my crazy little world.  I've connected with some friends and made some along the way.  I've received some "luv" from others who give of themselves so now it's my turn to SPREAD SOME LUV to you!  So, on my 3 month blogaversary coming up on December 1st & with Christmas just around the corner, I want you to have an opportunity to win this . . .

I made a Christmas Accordian Tag!  I saw this on Split Coast Stampers and so wanted to make one.  I just used my scrap DP's and CS, along with all the embellishments.  The tags measure approximately 2 1/2 x 30 inches!  Wowie!  So long that I could hardly fit the piece into a photo shot . . . tried my best!  Here, I took some pictures close-up, but in sections.

Santa Birgitta's hat is decked up in Chili Pepper Red Fun Flock.  I luv sparkles so I used more stickles!  The glittery chipboard alpha adds more "umph" to the piece.  { Is "umph" a word? }

What do you need to do to win my 3 Month Blogaversary Candy?  Simply . . .

~ Leave a comment on this post
~ Link this post to your blog (if you don't have a blog, no worries!)
~ Be a Stalker . . . Oh, I mean a Follower!  :)

Playing for this candy will end on Monday, November 30th midnight (HST) & I will announce the lucky winner through Random.org on Tuesday, December 1st!  Let the JOURNEY begin!

So Do You Think Anya Can Hula Dance?

You be the judge!

I thought this was pretty cool.  I wanted Hula Anya to do the kaholo (side by side travelling step), maybe an 'ami (rotation of the hips) too!  Then it dawned on me . . . incorporate the Easel Card & a Slider Card together!  Now she can really dance!  With the plumeria haku in her hair (see them pop!) and the grass skirt, Anya is ready to dance her way into Christmas!  That is . . . a Very Merry Hawaiian Christmas!  For those that might not know the meaning of the Hawaiian word "Mele Kalikimaka", it simply means, Merry Christmas!   Check out the Sparkle Fibers on the snowflakes.  We don't get *SNOW* here on O`ahu so I figured I can wish hard through this card.

This card is up for several of challenges:

~ Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #7 - create a Merry Christmas, Happy Winter card

~ Anyone for Anya? - Make A Fake Challenge!  Using fake lace (border punch), faux stitching and flowers!

~ Allsorts Challenge Blog #28 - Christmas Carol or Song Title!

~ Whimsy Stamps Challenge #29 - Create something that has "Christmas" in it.

~ Pollycraft Challenge #29 - Anything Christmas Themed

~ One Stop Craft Challenge #56 - Snowflakes!

~ Cute Daisy May Challenge - Red Christmas

Ingredients?
DP from my stash, carstock, border punch, word window (SU) punch and snowflake punches, nesties, dew drops, sparkle fibers, stickles, pop dots, 2 pennies, red ribbon, stitch stamp (CTMH), Hula Anya, my computer and copic markers.

Well, regardless if Anya can hula dance or not, she's can do a good job faking it that's for sure!  JOURNEYING off into the sunset!

Another Tote Bag and Card . . .

Okay, I just had to make another Tote Bag and Card to match . . . just because.  IT WAS SO DARN FUN TO DO!  This time, I used one of my favorite colors, PINK.  Yes, I know, I'm using Heidi again.  I can't help it, I luv her!  She is so versatile ~ you can add embellishments to her, in front of her, & use her for all seasons.  Or simply, use her as is.  Regardless, she's cute!

This Pink Tote is up for a challenge at:

~ Whimsy Stamps Challenge #28 - Not a Card please!

Well, gotta JOURNEY to my next project . . . stay tune!  :o)

Ahhh . . . my Flower Rivet Bracelet!

Ain't is gorgeous!  Thank you so much Lora for the personalized bracelet . . . I absolutely LUVit!

If you don't know the story about how I got this bracelet, click HERE.

~ I've blurred out the names of my children to protect their identity.  I know this doesn't do the bracelet justice, but believe me, it's  beautiful! ~

I'm gonna JOURNEY to make a Thank You card for Lora . . . I'm so excited to wear this!  :o)

So Thankful . . .

I have a lot to be thankful for ~ my family & friends, a roof over my head, food to eat, being able to stay home to raise my children, my freedom, and LIFE!  With the eonomy as it has been, 1LuvnDad hasn't asked me to go back to work (I'm sure the extra money would help, but he realizes the importance of caring for our kids).

I started the tote bag to save as a sample for myself, but decided that I wanted to give it away.  My girlfriend Shenann ordered me some stuff and I just wanted to thank her for doing that for me.  Then, I made the Thank You card to go with the tote.  Btw, I came across the tote bag instructions over at 5 Inky Fingers by Toni Sacrison.  I thought the bag was so adorable!

This is the first time I'm using my 3 window diecut by QuicKutz.  That's pretty cool and came out great!  I have yet to use the other dies in the kit.

With that said, the Tote Bag & the Thank You card is up for a few challenges . . .

La La Land Crafts - llwwc#13 - Create a card or paper project using the words "Thankful/Thank You" theme.  Oh, not to mention, there is a Blog Candy that you could win only if you participate in this challenge.

~ Flutter By Wednesday - Danni's Dream Crafts asks to create a card or paper project using a BUTTERFLY, ANGEL, or a FAIRY in it.  You must have one of the 3 to qualify for this challenge.

~ The Pixie Cottage - There is a sketch for this Challenge #3.

~ Little Paper Shop - All you have to do is use a die cut!

Ingredients?
{ Designer Paper and cardstock, my punches (round, scallop, round tab, corner, flower and butterfly), Circle Scalloped nesties, a 3 window diecut by QuicKutz (Santa's Workshop), brads, eyelets, stickles, copics, flowers, satin ribbon, clear stamp for the sentiment in my stash, Swiss Pixies Heidi and my computer. } Phew . . . I hope that's it!

Boy, I think I'm hooked!  It's pretty fun and I luv a challenge!  I'm just realizing that I've put my luv of crafting on hold ever since my kids were born.  I want to be a good and dedicated mother to them.  This blog, which I started in September, was meant to be a release for just me!  I can ramble, create, inspire, and learn all at the same time.  I think I've JOURNEYED back "home" to a place that is comfortable to me.  I am HAPPY!

Anya Round & Round!

Hi all!  I'm up for another challenge . . . that's a card challenge!  I stopped by Kris of K-lusive Kreations and saw the Anyone For Anya Challenge.  So, since I was already working on a project  for a few other challenges, I couldn't resist this "Getting Round To It".  Basically, you just have to include anything round in your card.  Also did another challenge using this card at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for Challenge#6 ~ Lotsa Circles.  That's it!  Pretty simple huh?  But, you should check out some the DT's work!

Here is my creation for this challenge . . .

When you pull the mini circle accordian album one way, it reads ~ Thank you so much!  Pulling it the other way, it reads ~ I appreciate your generosity!  Isn't that neat?

I used designer paper and cardstock, Anya, of course, satin ribbon, some sugar coated brads and plain white brads, stickles, some flowers, nesties, and my mini circle accordian album (an add-on to my Limited Edition Santa's Workshop by QuicKutz.)

Well, time to submit this card for the challenge . . . JOURNEYING to finish up my other project!

Sour Cream Anyone?

I'll make this a short post today { not if I can help it!  ;o) }

Today was my son's last day of  swimming lessons.  We are all kind of sad :(  only because he enjoys it so much!  Plus, Shadow made a friend during his swim lessons.  Since this was the kids last lesson, I decided to make a little something for Shadow's friend and the swim instructor.  I took the sour cream container idea and altered the size a bit larger to fit juice, some snacks, and a gift card.  It was SUPAH, HUGE, & GI-NORMOUS! :)  Before I show it to you, I put together a photo collage of my son's JOURNEY!

Here are a few pics of Shadow from September to present.  { I tried to do a photo effect/action in Photoshop, but couldn't get it to work . . . shucks!  Would've looked way cool! }

I hope you can read all that mumble jumble!   Click on the collage to get a closer look.

Now, here's the BIG sour cream container I made . . .

I used a digital image by Laurie's Scraps.  The boys hair was actually blonde and the board shorts was green.  I just used Photoshop to change to colors.  Voila!  A new looking boy with sparkly blue board shorts!
Instead of crimping the 2 ends, I just used my scallop punch to give it a different look.   The paper I liked because it reminded me of water.  BTW, I used a 10 x 12 inch CS for this project.

Thanks for looking!  Our JOURNEY now takes us to the beach more often (if it doesn't rain since it's beginning to be a rainy season here in Hawaii).  Well, until my son starts up swim lessons again in January.

OCS for November & My Very First Challenge!

Hey all!  Wow, I don't know how you ladies who do card-making or scrapbooking do it!  Where do you find the time?  With 2 little ones, I'm lucky if I can get ANYTHING done.  Okay, I signed up for Teri's OCS (One Card Swap) for November & December.  It'll be a challenge, but I'm willing & up for it!  I also wanted to try a card challenge since I was already making a card for my November partner, Tia.  I entered a challenge at La~La Land Crafts Weekly Challenge #12 ~ Getting Punchy.  So, here's what I made . . .

I stuck to a Thanksgiving theme since it's coming around in the next couple of weeks.  Plus, the La~La Land Crafts Challenge was to create a card using punches and/or diecuts.  Perfect!  Here's what I used . . .

Marvey Scallop Punch, Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch, EZ Success Dotted Scallop Punch, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Squares Large, Crop-A-Dile, and the Cricut ~ Doodlecharms Cartridge.

I always wanted to do a Waterfall Card.  Just imagine the unfolding, one at a time while pulling the pull mechanism.  First the acorns, then the Fall leaves, and lastly, the TURKEY!

The pull tab reveals a message . . . "Give thanks & count your blessings . . . Happy Thanksgiving!

I left the inside of the card blank for now ~ will be sending a sweet 'ol message to Tia.

{ Tia ~ I'm sorry I posted this before you even receive your card.  I had to submit to the Challenge by Sunday.  My apologies :o) I will be mailing it to you on Monday!  I hope you like it! }

Thanks for enduring and JOURNEYING with me on this long post!  Have a great weekend!
