Princess For A Day!

Greetings Royal TGF fans!  Have you seen the newest stamps being release for June?  Boy, Marie has put out a Princess Collection!  LUV, LUV, LUV!

Today is our W.O.W. Challenge over at the TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.  We are going Monochromatic!  I must admit, I've never done a monochromatic card {shame, shame} . . . scares the heck outta me!  I have a hard time sticking to one color -- didn't think I could pull it off.  Then again, it's a challenge and I'm on the Challenge Team right?  Here goes!

I used Princess Collection - No. 03.  Yep, went all yellow for this one!  I've been sorta on this yellow binge lately, not sure if the summer bug has hit me.  Don't you just luv that sentiment?  If only I could be "Princess For A Day" . . . I'd be happy if I could be "Princess For A Minute"!  Most times I feeling like Cinderella before her transformation.  I suppose I'm wishing hard through this card!  :)  hee, hee!

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Monochromatic.  Come join in on the fun!  :)  Thanks for visiting!

Friends are flowers that never fade . . .

Today is bittersweet . . . this will be my farewell and last post I will do as a DT member for La-La Land Crafts.  It is with a sad heart that I have decided to bid farewell to Irina, the girls, and of course, Marci and Luka.  My time is stretched thin and my "babies" need me.

When Irina asked me to join her team about a year and a half ago as a Guest Designer, I was so humbled and honored.  Then I joined the ranks as a DT member along side some very talented and creative ladies whom I've come to admire.  I will miss everyone!  Thank you Irina for allowing me the opportunity to create for you!  To the girls ~ May you inspire!  And to everyone who comes by my little blog ~ Thank you for your support and encouraging words!

On to my card.  Since this is my last DT card, I found it fitting to use Marci with Flower, which is one of the new images being released this summer!  The sentiment says it all for me . . . Friends are flowers that never fade.  This is my tribute -- I've made wonderful friendships through La-La Land Crafts and I know I will continue those friendships!

Be sure to check out the new Design Team members!  They are fabulous and will bring Marci and Luka life!  :)  Thanks for coming here for a visit!  Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!

Today I'm Thankful . . .

Before I get to my card for today, I just wanted to say that I have NOT been able to comment on some blogs in the past couple of days.  I don't know why but I think Blogger is having some problems . . . I do visit, read, and admire all your creations.  ;)  If I haven't commented and you know that I do visit you regularly, I apologize.  Now, on to my project!

You're In My Thoughts . . . - W.O.W. Sketch Challenge

It's W.O.W. - Which One Wednesday over at TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.  This week, we have a fun sketch created by our Team Captain, Rachel.  Here's the sketch . . .

For the sketch challenge, I used this Anya from the Miss Anya Love.  It's definitely been a while since I inked this sweetie up!  She's colored in Distress Inks.  I purchased some washi tape and really wanted to incorporate it into the card.  The black stands out against the fushia pinks don't ya think?

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sketch 4.  Come join us and good luck!

Here Comes Trouble!

Hey there peeps!  I'm here to stir up some trouble . . . well, not me, it's Fireman Luka!

This is my second card using Fireman Luka. I just adore him because my hubby is a firefighter. Once again, I had to color him in the proper outfit my hubby would be wearing on the job.  Wanna know where the inspiration came from?

This week, my son had a Water Play Day at school. The firefighters brought the yellow firetruck to the school yard and set up the hoses. You could probably guess what took place next . . . the kids got sprayed and had a blast!!! My son was right up front, trying to get the firefighters to spray him . . . he SUCCEEDED with every attempt! He is my little trouble maker, but it was nice to see him have so much fun!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great weekend! :)

Summer Luvn . . .

Summer is just around the corner.  For some of you, you're probably so done with the cold weather.  Here in Hawai`i, it feels like summer all year round!  The Farm Fresh Challenge Blog invites you to its FFF challenge . . .  SUMMER LOVE!  Use bright colors, sun, surf, sand, whatever makes you think of summer, just make it sizzlin' HOT.
I've chosen to use Cheeky Beach for my Summer Love card.  Bright it is don't ya think?  I created a little beach scene for her . . . with blue skies surrounding her, she's basking in the sun, sitting pretty on the sand.  Not much embellishments since the papers are so busy, plus I wanted Cheeky Beach to be the focus of the card.  She's colored in Distress Inks.

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Summer Love.  Thanks for stoppin' by and good luck!

Black & White Abbey

It's time for a WOW Challenge at TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog!  I sure hope you can join us for this one 'cause it's all about BLACK & WHITE!  Basically everything on this card should be B&W with the exception of flesh tones.  Yep, I decided to go with that.  I kinda like some color to the B&W . . . makes the image pop a bit.

Here I used Creeper Crew Abbey again.  I really, really like this image and her hair is so punky!

Abbey up close . . . I added some shadow to her eyes and some Star Dust Stickles too.  She's colored with copics in C's (hair, clothes and shoes) & W's (belt and gloves).

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday; entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Black and White.  Good luck and thanks for coming by for a visit!

Reaching Out . . .

Have you ever friend who was always there no matter what? Through the good times and the bad? I'm sure you all have your "BFF" right there at your side.

Today, I am sharing a card showcasing Ballerina Marci. She was one of the first in a series of Marci's created by Irina and Eric for La-La Land Crafts. I just luv how she's reaching and extending out her hand . . . really went well with the sentiment I paired her up with.

I colored her in Distress Inks and sprayed the entire card with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  It's hard to see here on the pictures, but it sure does sparkle!  :)

Here's a close up.

Thanks for stoppin' by today.  Wishing everyone a great weekend!  :)  TA-TA!!!

Congrats To My Boy!

So, having Blogger problems just like me?  This post is a wee bit late but it was out of my control.  Hopefully, Blogger has their issues and problems taken care of as I realized many of us experienced lost postings and comments.  Oh well, that's part of being in a technological world!

Today, I'm sharing my project for TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog's - FFF.  Come join us as we want you to create a CONGRATULATIONS project/card.  It can be for someone who has just retired after many years of service, for a couple getting married, or for a graduate!  You get the picture . . .

I created a graduation cap/card for my son.  He will be completeing his first year of school as a Kindergartener in a couple of weeks and will move on to the First Grade in the Fall.  This cap was created using the Petal Cone die.  I just cut off the pointed end and the opposite end too.  Yep, I even made the tassel out of floss.

Here's what the card part looks like when you flip it open.  I left a space for me & hubby to write a sweet message to DS!  Can you see Grad Ian?  I shrunk him down to about 2 inches in size.  You can get him as a digi {HERE}.

The card measures 3 1/4 x 6 3/4.  I scored lines at 3 1/4 & 3 1/2 to give the rolled up MOOLAH some room.  Kinda like a diploma.

Here's Grad Ian up close.  My son's school colors are BLUE & WHITE.  We are very proud of DS and all that he's learned and accomplished this year.  CONGRATS SON . . . WE LUV U!!!  :)

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Congrats.  Good luck and have a Happy Friday the 13th!

WOW - For You

Ready for a sketch challenge?  Here is the sketch for TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog's WOW - Which One Wednesday.

This is my take on the Rach's sketch.  I inked up Syren and colored her with Distress Inks.  Something drew me to color her with fiery, red hair.  Then, once I finished the hair, I went with a black tail.  Sorta goth looking huh?  I actually luv how it came together with the papers too.

Syren up close.  My sweet friend Amy had colored up Syren a while ago and I remembered she put in some pearls in her hair.  Yep, had to sneaky that idea . . . thanks Amy for the inspiration!  :)

The W.O.W. challenge is open until Tuesday.  All entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The randomly chosen winner receives a free digi stamp of choice.  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > Sketch 3.  Good luck!

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother's Day.  The hubby earned brownie points with me . . . he made breakfast - - rice, Portuguese sausage and egg.  Also got me a flower lei to wear to church!  :)  Lastly, we had a cozy dinner at home.  Yep, he cooked again!  Japanese food!  Hubby made BBQ meat on the grill, made Shrimp Tempura, tofu with ginger, and for dessert . . . ice cream!  Well, the ice cream was actually for my kids.

Anyways, Teacher Appreciation Week was last week.  I scrambled to put these together for my son's teachers.  I am strapped for time these days, but managed to get them done.

The flower was made using SU! Fun Flower die.  A couple of months ago, I got together with some friends and the wonderful Cami did a make 'n take.  This is the project she had us make.  I couldn't bear to adhere this flower on my project . . . the Fun Flower die had to be in my possession first for me to glue that pretty flower on!  My flower is in no comparison to Cami's by far!  Her fancy tulle makes it extra special!  I added tulle to my flowers, but it doesn't have the same effect.

Here's the inside of the book.  Cute yeah!  :)  Cami was crazy to prep all of this for us girls.  She's amazingly talented and oh so generous!  I took pics of some RAKS and stuff from that gathering but just never got a chance to post them.   Will do laters!

Ok, got side tracked a bit.  Back to the purses.  Here is what I put inside of the purses.  Now your wondering, "What the heck is all of that?"

This is the little note for my son's teachers . . .

All the items in the purse have a meaning and go with this note.

PAY - Pay Day Candy Bar
ZOO - Animal Crackers
HEADACHE - Tylenol
SILLY - Silly bands
HANDS - Hand Sanitizer
MARK - pen
LATTE - Starbuck's Gift Card

Anyway, just thought I'd share these purses with ya.  Have a great day and thanks for stoppin' by!

Celebrate Today . . .

Well, actually it's meant for Sunday, which is Mother's Day.  I posted a project I made {HERE} for my mother.  Today, I'm sharing a card I will give to my mother-in-law.

This is Darling Marci.  I immediately picked up this stamp because my MIL has the same hair style.  Not only that, she is a DARLING, literally!  She's like a second mom and has always been there for me, my hubby, and my kids!  I wanted to honor her on this special day.

My sweet friend and former La-La Land sister, Kristine, made a Stand Up Card and I was tempted to try it out.  Click {HERE} to see Kris' post.  She also gives a tutorial as well.  Thanks Kris!  You are an inspiration to me with all your wonderful projects!

This card is kept very simple.  I wanted Marci to be the focal point with little distraction.  I didn't add too many embellishments, besides a few butterflies, flourishes, and a bow.

Here's the top view of the Stand Up Card.  I tweaked the measurements on my card so that I could fit the frame around Darling Marci.

That's it!  Thank you for stoppin' by!  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Rock On Sistah!

OMGoodness!  Aren't you luvn the new release or what?  Today I created a card using Creeper Crew Abbey for W.O.W. - Which One Wednesday over at TGF Farm Fresh Challenge Blog.  You can get her {HERE}.  The challenge is to use PURPLES & GREENS on your project/card.

I went all out for this Rockin' Sistah!  She reminds me of Avril Lavigne with her funky hair and rocker style.  No matter how much of a toughy she looks, Avril manages to maintain a soft side to her personality.  That's why I added the doily for a soft touch.  :)  Abbey is colored with copics on Kraft paper.  This is my first attempt at coloring on Kraft  . . . I think I'll be coloring on Kraft more often, just luv the look of it.

Here's a close up of Abbey.  I used the Splotchy set for the background -- I inked up Splotchy with VersaMark, DI's Shabby Shutters and Milled Lavendar.

The WOW challenge runs until Tuesday, entries are due by 12 PM CST. Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria>Farm Fresh Challenges 2011>WOW>Purple & Green. The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF digi of choice! Good luck and thanks for coming to visit!

This One's 4 U!

Happy Monday!  I'm back with a MM post . . . Mystery Monday CASE'ing Tanya Tahir.  It was my turn to pick a card for the TGF Galleria to CASE and found Tanya's card {HERE}.  I loved everything about it!

Here's my take on CASE'ing her card.

I hung my banner up above Wild Sprout Elena, who is the newest Sprout just released on May 1st!  I propped Elena on a doily and curled the edges upward to give it dimension.

I tried to take a photo of Elena's sunglasses . . . Glossy Accents was added for a shiny effect.

The Monday CASE contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST. The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck! Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Tanya Tahir.
