Sister Stamps Release Day!

Today is the day . . .  Sister Stamps Release Day!  Woohoo!!!

If you came here from Debi's blog, you're all good!  If not, head on back to the Sister Stamps blog to get started on your hop!

It's almost sad to end the hop.  I've had so much fun creating with these adorable images and got a chance to really "craft"!  :)  I hate to say it, but I pretty much forgot how to post, link, and navigate through my blog, especially taking my photos and editing them.  Yep, had to relearn everything . . . that's my fault for being away too long.  Hopefully, this will help me get back into crafting and sharing something of substance.  HEE, HEE!!!  No promises though . . .

Ok, here's my last and final project.  I created a shadow box using Lori Whitlock's SVG 8x10 Shadow Box.  You can find it at the Silhouette Online Store or at Lori Whitlock's Shop.

I decided to color Miyoko and Mariko.  The Sister Stamps name was created in the ECAL software and  I just welded the letters together.  I also put together a 3D #1 representing Sister Stamps 1st Birthday using the 3D Number Party Kit.  The teeny tiny lantern above the #1 measures approximately 1.5 inches.  It wasn't easy trying to glue the lantern together, but happy that I did it!  It's from the Crisp Days of Fall Kit from SVGCuts.

Here's Miyoko.  With my Copic Multiliner pen, I drew in lines for her hair.  Just wanted to try something different.  Miyoko was masked only exposing her kimono which I stamped with another sakura stamp.

Here's Mariko.  I just luv her in deep red!  The lanterns hanging above her is from Lawn Fawn's Lunar Lights set.  All the other embellishments within the shadow box is from Bo Bunny's Serenity Collection.

Your next stop, Ms. Amy Young!  Thanks for stoppin' by . . .  don't forget to get your Sister Stamps!

**************

THANK YOU SO MUCH JENNY!  THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN AND I'M GLAD I WAS ABLE TO JOIN IN ON YOUR CELEBRATION.   CRAFTING AGAIN DEFINITELY BROUGHT ME BACK TO MY "HAPPY PLACE" & REALIZE I NEED TO DO THIS MORE OFTEN.  WISHING YOU MANY, MANY MORE YEARS OF SUCCESS WITH SISTER STAMPS!

がんばってね! おめでとう!
{Good luck!  Congratulations!}

Baked With Love - Meet Miyoko!

Hello and Happy Saturday!  Can you believe it?  Tomorrow is the BIG Release!  I'm sure y'all are just rubbing those hands together in anticipation.

Today is Day 3 in the Sister Stamps #8 Release.  If you came here from Debi's blog, you are on the right track.  If not, head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and start hopping' from there!

Here is Miyoko.  So dainty holding her sweet cupcake.  I finally got to use my Sizzix Flip-its die . . . this is the square one.  I randomly stamped around the cardstock with a cherry blossom stamp that I've had for many, many years.

I wanted her to stand out in front of the patterned paper so I decided to cut a circle out of vellum and cut a border to frame Miyoko.  I think it helped in making her the focal point for the card.

When you "flip" the card, this is what's behind . . . I added this sentiment from the Yummers set by Paper Smooches.  The little "Happy Birthday" sentiment is by PTI.

This is why I used "Baked with Love".  I created a gift set to go with the card.  I made a mini cupcake box/holder and a pedestal to go with it.  The cupcake box is an svg file from Lauren Meader's, Hey Cupcake!  I sized the box down quite a bit to fit 2 mini cupcakes.  The bow on the front of the box is from designer, Patricia Zapata.  You can find it at the Silhouette Online Store or at A Little Hut.  The pedestal is from the Popular Street Tulips kit & the doily that sits on top is from the Doilies collection by SVGCuts.

Take a look at the yummy mini Red Velvet cupcakes!  So oishi (delicious)!  I admit it . . . after taking these pictures, I popped those cupcakes right into my mouth!  :)

Okie dokie, you might just wanna head on over to Amy's blog for more inspiration.  She's the master of Copic coloring!  :)  See you back here for my final project and for RELEASE DAY!

Let's Celebrate - Meet Takeo!

Today is Day 2 of Sister Stamps new release.  Did you arrive here from Debi's blog?  Yep, your on the right track . . . if not, head to the Sister Stamps blog and you can start hopping in the correct order.

I bet you couldn't get enough of seeing all the creations by Jenny, Debi, Aunty Jan, and the past Guest Designers using these cute and kawaii stamps!  Well, there's more!

Meet Takeo.  He is just adorable and reminds me of my first son -- so carefree and energetic.  I can totally picture Takeo running around and having a blast in the summer sun.  What fun to be running with all those balloons too!   I actually made this card for my son since his birthday is at the end of July.

Here's a close up of Takeo.  See the balloons?  I added some Glossy Accents to make them shiny.  Ok, I know, I went a little light on the sky.  I'm a bit rusty and haven't colored or created much lately.  Almost embarrassed to show this to y'all.  Along with the card, I'll give my boy this tool box so he can put in his many Beyblades.  It's a craze with young kids, I can't begin to explain how to play them.

The tool box is the Tool Box svg file from Crea8ive Cutz.  I incorporated the handle at the top of the tool box from the My Day With Dad Kit by SVGCuts 'cause it looks so realistic.

Now, hop on over to Ms. Amy's blog!  She'll have something amazing to show you . . . thanks for stopping' by and see you back here tomorrow!

ON A SIDE NOTE:
I just wanted to say how touched I am that some of you have missed me over these long, long, months. I have definitely missed you too!!  Life is just way too busy and with 3 kids, it just gets busier.  There's always life changing events happening in our family, the latest being that my hubby has gone back to the fire station.  He was at the Headquarters working in the Community Relations/Educational Department with the Honolulu Fire Department for the past 2 years.  Hubby decided to get back in the field to gain experience so that when he goes for the Captain's promotion, having the office and field experience would benefit him in the long run.  Now this all translates into me being home with the kids by myself for a 24 hour shift (3 shifts in a rotation).  We've done it in the past so we are used to the transition.  Anyways, I really appreciate all of you!  :)

A Gift For You - Meet Mariko!

Hello world!  I'm poppin' into my most neglected blog for some very special previews.  That's right, in the next couple of days, I'll be sharing some projects that I've been working on for Sister Stamps.  I'm sure you've seen the 3 new images being released on July 1st . . . soooo, soooo cute!

If you came here from Debi's blog, then you are on the right track.  If not, click {HERE} and it will take you right to the Sister Stamps blog.  There you will find the complete Blog Hop list.

I'm thrilled and honored to help Jenny and her sister, Denise, celebrate Sister Stamps' 1 year anniversary or better yet, its First Birthday!  Jenny has called upon past Guest Designers to help in this celebration & I know you'll be blown away by all the creations.  Are you ready?  Here we go!

Today, I'm sharing with you Mariko.  She is definitely ready to get this party started.  I did a shaped card using my Nestabilities.  Along with this card, I created an oval gift box which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Oriental Weave embossing folder.  This gift box was cut with my Eclips machine using the Sew Crafty Kit from SVGCuts.  Luv, luv, luv SVGCuts!

Here is a close up of Mariko!

Here's the top view.

Now head on over to Amy's blog!  Thanks for stoppin' by and see you back here tomorrow!

Release Day! Happiness Always . . .

Today is the day!  It's September 1st and it's release day for Sister Stamps!  Yay!!!  Before I get to my last and final project, I just want to say thank you Jenny for giving me this opportunity to participate in your release of these kawaii images.  What a privilege and honor to work along side you, Denise, and Debi!  Arigato, arigato!  :)

Ok, I saved this one for last since it took me some time to put together.  I worked on this project for days . . . I could have finished it all in the same day, but hey, I got 3 kids, a busy schedule and very little time to myself.  I'm so glad I finished and I get to share it with you!  Here's my project:

This is an Explosion Box.  I've made these before, but wanted to try this topper.  My sweet blogging friend Kris did a wonderful tutorial on how she made her top.  Click {HERE} for Kris' tutorial.

Once the lid is taken off, this is what the inside looks like.  There she is, Ayako!  She's the last of the 4 images being released today!  The sentiment from SU says, "Happiness Always".

Here's a top view to show you the floating cherry blossoms.  I cut clear acetate in a spiral, attached one end to a panel and attach the opposite end to the trellis.  Yep, created a scene for Ayako.  The trellis was made using the MS Garden Trellis border punch.  I added some grass as well.

Ayako and the butterfly (from the Kiyomi stamp) were propped up with more acetate.  I have to mention that I colored Ayako's hair black, but I've added a tinge of BV08.  I remember my grandmother having a purple tinge in her all white hair.  Don't know if it was from the chemicals in the hair products she used or if it was her trying to be a hip grandmama!  :)

Well, I'm so happy to have shared my creations with you . . . now go out and grab your Sister Stamps!  :)  There are numerous locations on which to purchase them.  Don't forget to click on over to Debi's blog.  She has more CANDY to give away!  Thank you for sticking it out with me the whole week long.  C u back here tomorrow . . . it's TGF - Farm Fresh time!  :)

Sister Stamps Day 3 - A New Adventure . . . One To Treasure

Good morning Sisters (& Brothers too)!  Are you ready for Day 3 of the Sister Stamps 2nd release?  Today I'm featuring Yoko.  I decided color her hair brown instead of black.  Yoko's kimono is paper pieced with a printed origami paper that I had in my stash.  I drew in lines on her pole to resemble a bamboo pole and a piece of gloss was added for more of a realistic feel.

Here's what I came up with.  I saw a card on Patti's blog, Creations by Patti.  She calls it a Window Card.  Click {HERE} to see her card.  This is what the card looks like closed.  Seems pretty flat right?

Here's what the window card looks like opened up.

This is a side view to give you an idea of how this card works.  It's almost like a tent card to me.  Pretty neat huh?

I hope you're enjoying all the sneak peeks of this 2nd release.  There's one more image I have to share with you tomorrow then you'll be able to get your hands on these cuties on September 1st!  :)  Check out the Sister Stamps blog for more inspiration and where you can purchase the release.  Also, stop by Debi's blog to see her creations and I'm sure she has some CANDY to give away!  Thanks for stoppin' by today, see you tomorrow!

Sister Stamps Day 2 - From Me To You . . .

Well, it's me again and it's Day 2 of the Sister Stamps 2nd release.  Today I have a Box of Drawers to share with you.  My sweet friend Shirley made one of these a few months back & I got to make one with another friend as a make 'n take with Joy.  It's a fun box to put all kinds of treats and goodies.  Click {HERE} for Shirley's post and project . . . she links to a tutorial on how to make this.

Here is Nobu.  I just adore this image and his playfulness.  That is a toy drum that he's holding, but I don't know the Japanese name for it.  If you know it, I'd luv to hear from you!  I've colored him with copics and thanks to Amy Young, I tried my hand at the Superhero black hair technique!  :)  Click {HERE} to see her video!

Here's another angle of the box.

This is the top view and the lid of the box.  I used a banner die and stamped a sentiment on the banner.

When you take the lid off, the box opens up.  Here are the 4 panels.

Here's the other side . . . YUM, YUM!!!  Full of treats!!

On September 1st, you'll be able to snag Nobu and 3 other images in this 2nd release.  Visit the Sister Stamps Blog for the locations on which you can purchase them!  Don't forget to stop over to Debi's blog, Crafty Buzz!  She has wonderful projects to share with you as well and some CANDY!!  :)

See ya back here tomorrow for Day 3!

A bit of a SISTERLY news . . .

G-Morning y'all!

I'm so, so excited and have been waiting a very long time for this week to arrive.  A sweet SISTER asked me to help her introduce the 2nd release of the Sister Stamps collection.  Yes, Jenny, of Crazy For Papercrafting and co-owner of Sister Stamps, that is!  Jenny has been posting the 4 adorable images over at the Sister Stamps blog in the past few weeks.  Here are the 4 new images:

I have the privilege of sharing my projects with you starting today until its release on September 1st.  And look . . . have you noticed NOBU?  He's the boy that you all have been asking for!  :)

On to my card.  I've created a Recessed Window Card using Miyono.  Thanks Brenda for the idea!  :)  Within the recessed window, I sponged clouds with Distress Ink and made a grassy hill for Miyono with leftover scrap paper.  The bamboo was stamped and cut with a coordinating die from PTI called Peaceful Garden.

Here's a close-up and a side view.  See the depth of the recessed window?  I also used Pop Dots to add dimension to the bamboo and Miyono.

Another close-up . . . I colored Miyono with copics.

This is the inside of the card.  I distressed the circle with Distress Ink Tumble Glass and stamped this Japanese writing stamp with Tumble Glass as well.  The sentiment comes from another PTI set called Gratitude Journal.

Don't ya just luv this image of Miyono?  She will be released on September 1st along with the other 3 images!  Don't forget to check out the Sister Stamps blog for places to purchase these wonderful stamps.

Come back tomorrow . . . I have another project to share with you!  :)  Thanks for stopping by today!

Wish BIG!

Hey, I'm back with a 'just-for-fun' project.  Today, I've used Mei Li from the new Sister Stamps, LLC.  She's just the cutest little thing don't ya think?  :)   Here is a card box that I created.  I followed the instructions from Beate Johns {HERE}.   The technique that I really wanted to try was making clouds for the background. My sweet friends Amy and Alice both did tutorials on how they make a cloud background.  Click {HERE} for Amy's tutorial & click {HERE} for Alice's one.  (Leanne, I finally did it!)

Here's a close up of Mei Li.  I paper pieced the top of her outfit and colored her pants with copics.  Can you believe this is an origami paper?  I had a pack of origami paper in my stash and luv'd the print, thus using it.  Might as well, it'll was there collecting dust.

Mei Li is adhered to a band that wraps around the card box.  See how spacious the card box is when you open it up?  You can add some TY cards, a gift card, a small RAK, whatever!  I think I'm gonna make more of these in the future.

Well, that's it for me.  I'm trying to work on some other stuff, hopefully I'll be able to get them done and posted here.  Thanks for stoppin' by today!  :)
