Sister Stamps Day 3 - A New Adventure . . . One To Treasure

Good morning Sisters (& Brothers too)!  Are you ready for Day 3 of the Sister Stamps 2nd release?  Today I'm featuring Yoko.  I decided color her hair brown instead of black.  Yoko's kimono is paper pieced with a printed origami paper that I had in my stash.  I drew in lines on her pole to resemble a bamboo pole and a piece of gloss was added for more of a realistic feel.

Here's what I came up with.  I saw a card on Patti's blog, Creations by Patti.  She calls it a Window Card.  Click {HERE} to see her card.  This is what the card looks like closed.  Seems pretty flat right?

Here's what the window card looks like opened up.

This is a side view to give you an idea of how this card works.  It's almost like a tent card to me.  Pretty neat huh?

I hope you're enjoying all the sneak peeks of this 2nd release.  There's one more image I have to share with you tomorrow then you'll be able to get your hands on these cuties on September 1st!  :)  Check out the Sister Stamps blog for more inspiration and where you can purchase the release.  Also, stop by Debi's blog to see her creations and I'm sure she has some CANDY to give away!  Thanks for stoppin' by today, see you tomorrow!

Sister Stamps Day 2 - From Me To You . . .

Well, it's me again and it's Day 2 of the Sister Stamps 2nd release.  Today I have a Box of Drawers to share with you.  My sweet friend Shirley made one of these a few months back & I got to make one with another friend as a make 'n take with Joy.  It's a fun box to put all kinds of treats and goodies.  Click {HERE} for Shirley's post and project . . . she links to a tutorial on how to make this.

Here is Nobu.  I just adore this image and his playfulness.  That is a toy drum that he's holding, but I don't know the Japanese name for it.  If you know it, I'd luv to hear from you!  I've colored him with copics and thanks to Amy Young, I tried my hand at the Superhero black hair technique!  :)  Click {HERE} to see her video!

Here's another angle of the box.

This is the top view and the lid of the box.  I used a banner die and stamped a sentiment on the banner.

When you take the lid off, the box opens up.  Here are the 4 panels.

Here's the other side . . . YUM, YUM!!!  Full of treats!!

On September 1st, you'll be able to snag Nobu and 3 other images in this 2nd release.  Visit the Sister Stamps Blog for the locations on which you can purchase them!  Don't forget to stop over to Debi's blog, Crafty Buzz!  She has wonderful projects to share with you as well and some CANDY!!  :)

See ya back here tomorrow for Day 3!

A bit of a SISTERLY news . . .

G-Morning y'all!

I'm so, so excited and have been waiting a very long time for this week to arrive.  A sweet SISTER asked me to help her introduce the 2nd release of the Sister Stamps collection.  Yes, Jenny, of Crazy For Papercrafting and co-owner of Sister Stamps, that is!  Jenny has been posting the 4 adorable images over at the Sister Stamps blog in the past few weeks.  Here are the 4 new images:

I have the privilege of sharing my projects with you starting today until its release on September 1st.  And look . . . have you noticed NOBU?  He's the boy that you all have been asking for!  :)

On to my card.  I've created a Recessed Window Card using Miyono.  Thanks Brenda for the idea!  :)  Within the recessed window, I sponged clouds with Distress Ink and made a grassy hill for Miyono with leftover scrap paper.  The bamboo was stamped and cut with a coordinating die from PTI called Peaceful Garden.

Here's a close-up and a side view.  See the depth of the recessed window?  I also used Pop Dots to add dimension to the bamboo and Miyono.

Another close-up . . . I colored Miyono with copics.

This is the inside of the card.  I distressed the circle with Distress Ink Tumble Glass and stamped this Japanese writing stamp with Tumble Glass as well.  The sentiment comes from another PTI set called Gratitude Journal.

Don't ya just luv this image of Miyono?  She will be released on September 1st along with the other 3 images!  Don't forget to check out the Sister Stamps blog for places to purchase these wonderful stamps.

Come back tomorrow . . . I have another project to share with you!  :)  Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishing you SUNSHINE!

Wow, I've been real silent these days huh?  Hopefully, life will settle down a bit as we get into a routine -- my older son is in school with tons of homework & both he and my hubby are off to soccer practice 4x a week with games/scrimmages on Saturday's & Sunday's.

Anyway, the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog is having a Digital Get Down challenge.  There was a HUGE turnout the last time we had a digi challenge, so we're bringing it back again!  Just use any of TGF's awesome digis, which you can find {HERE}.  Come join us!

Today, I've used HG Rain Rain digi for my card.  When you think of a raincoat, yellow always pops to mind.  I luv the bright color, but wanted to go with a different color . . . orange!  Bright enough don't you think?

I will be sending this to a good friend of mine who is undergoing treatment for . . . CANCER.  She's is one strong person and has such a positive attitude.  As she says, she'll fight hard and will WIN the battle!  I'm so proud of her!

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Digital Get Down 2.

Thanks for stoppin' by today . . . I SO APPRECIATE all of you who come by my blog and leaving me such sweet, encouraging words.  To show my appreciation and to celebrate my upcoming 2 year blogaversary, I'll be putting together some CANDY!  Yep, everyone luvs candy right?  :)  So, stay tuned for my post . . . ta-ta and have a great weekend!

Open Please!

Well, it's time for our weekly MM challenge over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog. I'm hosting this week, so I went in search of a card to CASE.  As I was scrolling through the gallery, I came across a card created by Rimna. I luv the colors she chose and the vintage, elegant vibe her card conveys.

My card is not so vintagy, but I luv how it came out.  I used the new AO - Surprise set.  I just luv how Oliver is presenting his gift.  Or it could be taken the other way, Oliver accepting a gift.  :)  I masked Oliver and stamped SLOTCHY using Distress Ink Pumice Stone and used another stamp for accent in Scattered Straw.  The sentiment, also in the the AO - Surprise set, is stamped in Pumice Stone.  I don't sew on my cards, but hand stitched right on the washi tape.

Here's a close-up.  I colored the gift with copics so that it would stand out.

The Mystery Monday contest runs until Sunday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of choice, so good luck!  Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Rimna.

Don't forget! You now have two ways to play! You can either CASE the card OR you can use it as an inspiration piece. Meaning that you can make the same style of card, use the same colors, etc, just as long as we can tell that you got your ideas from the showcased card.

Thanks for stoppin' by today!

Back To School Already?

Aloha Friday!  YIPPY!  This week for FFF, the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog has a really cool challenge for you . . . "2 Cool 4 School"! Show us your best school-related projects, either for students or teachers, it doesn't matter.

For some of you, you or your kids may still be on summer break, but for me and my kids, school began about 2 weeks ago.  The first week wasn't so back with no homework for my son.  This week was a different story - - he and his classmates got SLAMMED with work!  You would think he attends private school, but nope, he's in the public school system.  Anyway, we've been busy with homework and with extra-curricular activities during the week and weekend.

For my project, I decided to do a set - - a card and a 3D item.  Do you spy Teacher Anya?  :)

I kept the card pretty simple so that the letters can be seen.  The school year 2011-2012 was stamped in the corners.  I think this is perfect to give to my son's new teacher.

Here's a backpack I made.  I found a tutorial {HERE} at Splitcoaststampers, but tweaked it a bit.   I'm going to give this set to my son's teacher and will add some goodies in the backpack to get her through the school year.  :)

This is the backside of the backpack.

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> 2 Cool 4 School.

That's all I have for you today.  I'll be back soon for some other creations.  :)  Thanks for stoppin' in and have a great weekend!

A Luv-ly Fancy Fold . . .

Are you ready for a Throwback challenge?  For Farm Fresh Challenge Blog's FFF challenge, we require you to break out your "old" TGF singles/sets.  At the bottom of this post, there is an "Exclusion List" which has the last several months worth of TGF releases on it. The deal is that you can use anything on your project BUT those stamps. So dust off your very first TGF purchases and make them shine again!

Along with this Throwback challenge, there's a twist. Create a 'Fancy Folds' card/project using your "old" stamps!  It can be an Easel Card, Tri-fold, Pop-Up, Gatefold Card . . . be creative and we'd luv to see what you come up with!

Before I get to my project, there's a new Farm Fresh Face joining the team.  Welcome, Emily Martina aka Beansscrapsandsheep!  Congrats girl!

Now, on to my Throwback Fancy Fold project.  If you know me, I absolutely luv anything 3D so this Fancy Fold challenge was right up my alley!  Today, I've made a Book Box Card featuring Wild Sprout Dahlia.  Ain't she a blast from the past?    I hadn't inked her up in ages and she was just screaming my name!  :)

Here's the front of the Book Box Card.  My sweet friend Cami did a Make 'n Take for one of our gatherings and this is the project she prepared for us to make.   I really wanted to make another one and this is what I came up with.

Here's the inside of the Book Box Card.  Click {HERE} for a tutorial on how to make one.  ***Sorry, after taking this photo and doing my final editting, I notice that one of the pearls had moved.  :)

A closer look . . . the box area is big enough to fit some goodies!  On the other side, there's an area for me to write a sweet note.

That's it!  Hope you enjoyed it and let me know if you try this.  I'd luv to see what you come up with!  :)

July C.A.T.S. Swap . . .

Wow, I'm coming down from a high after celebrating The Greeting Farm's 3rd Birthday Bash!

My good friend Joy hosts a Card And Tag Swap also known as C.A.T.S.   I decided to give it a go and participate in the 3 month long swap.  Click {HERE} for more details if you want to participate and meet some new crafty people!  For the month of July, I was partnered with the most fabulous and talented, Donna Mikasa of three umbrellas.  Here's the card and tag she sent me . . .

Cute or what?  True Donna fashion . . . luv her polka dot, wonky reverse rectangle card and tag!  :)  The theme was RED, WHITE, and BLUE.

Oh boy, oh boy . . . I was so nervous, I knew I had to come up with something special.  Since Donna makes the cutest shaped cards with her Spellbinders, I wanted to make one for her, but with a twist, LITERALLY!
Here's my card using Maisie Two Balloons from Lili of the Valley.  She's a tiny cutie patootie and perfect for a shaped card.  I decided to wipe away Maisie's two balloons and added a balloon cut from CC Designs balloon die instead.  This is a mini easel card with an added twist.  I saw this card on Norma's blog {HERE}.  She has a very detailed, step by step tutorial which is so easy to follow.  :)

Here's the "twist".  You can write a sweet note in this section.

Now, this is the tag.  I stuck to the same layout as the card.

Thanks Donna for being an awesome partner!  You amaze me with your creativity!  Now I have to think of something special for my new partner for my August swap . . . oh boy, I better be on my game, I've got a super talented partner.  Stay tuned . . .
