Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

This is a Haunted House that I put together using the Gingerbread House Sizzix Die.  I just cut out the heart and stamped a window in its place.  I also cut off the handles.  The stamped images are from an old Stampin' Up set & Penny Black Trick or Treat set.

Just wanted to wish y'all a Happy Halloween and have a safe and fun one with family and friends!

A Short Term Farewell and a Votive . . .

Hey Gang!  Don't let the title of this post scare you.  Although this is my last post for La-La Land Crafts Blog, I'll be back at some point.  My farewell is for a short time since I'm awaiting the arrival of my little guy.  Like I said, I wanted to go out with a BANG with this post.  I hope you'll stick with me because I have lots of photo shots to share with you!

For my project, I made a Votive Card using a tea light.  I saw this on Splitcoaststampers some time ago and thought I'd give it a try.  I made this Votive Card two-sided . . . one in a Halloween theme and the other in a Christmas theme.

Here's the  Halloween theme featuring Pumpkin Marci and Witch Marci

Got Candy?

Witch Marci is just flying by to say "HI"!

Now here's the Christmas themed side featuring Santa Marci, Caroling Luka, and Winter Marci.

Ho, Ho, Ho . . . Merry Christmas!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

This is the top view looking down on the tea light.

I wanted to show what the Votive Card looks like with the lights dimmed and the tea light on.

How did I make this card?  Here's the dimensions . . .

I cut a piece of CS at 8-1/2" x 12".  On the 8-1/2" side, I scored the CS in half at 4-1/4".  Turn the CS around to the 12" side and score at 3", 6", and 9".  Using an Exacto knife, cut on the score line from the 3" mark to 9" mark.  This will give you an opening for the tea light.  Decorate as you wish and adhere the two ends shut.  You can make the dimensions any size you want, it's totally up to you.  I hope my directions make sense . . . I'm not good at tutorials.  You can actually fold up this Votive Card and tie a ribbon around it to give as a gift.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I enjoyed making it.  I know I'll keep this out in the next couple of months.  Be sure to visit the Online Store to get your Marci & Luka stamps.  They are perfect for the upcoming holidays!  Thanks again for all your support and I'll definitely keep you updated on the "boss"!

A Virtual Party Favor & More Treat Bags . . .

Hey all!  I just wanted to share a favor I received from Joy of The Joy of Crafting.  She recently celebrated her 1 year Blogaversary and invited us to her Virtual Party!  What do you know?  All the Virtual Party players received a favor from her and this is what I got in the mail!

Super cute yeah her French Fry Box Owl!  Let me tell you, all the candies are nearly gone (shared them with the "boss")!  Joy's so sweet ~ she added a clear stamp, Christmas sticky notes, and a gift card.  Thanks Joy and congrats on your Blogaversary again!

Here are some treat bags I put together.  I made a total of 6.  Click {HERE} for a tutorial on how to make a Box in a Bag.  I just altered the dimensions and added ribbon for handles.

My hubby asked me to make treat bags for the secretaries at the Fire Bureau.  If I didn't mention it before, he got promoted a couple of months ago and is now working at the the Headquarters in the Fire Prevention section.  He no longer is at the fire station, but hopes to get back to driving the firetruck in about a year.

That's it . . . I'll be back tomorrow to share my last project for La-La Land Crafts before I take a maternity leave!

Thank You Gift Card Holder

This Gift Card Holder was another project on my To-Do List.  I made around a dozen of them.  My special friends and fellow Creative Team members threw me a SURPRISE BABY SHOWER earlier this month.  I'm not one for suprises, but they did a darn good job in keeping this event hush-hush from me.  Even my mother-in-law knew!  Anyway, I had so much fun and I so appreciated what they did for me!  I know a simple gift card cannot express my sincere gratitude.

Here's the gift card holder.  See that little guy?  He is a digi image from Bugaboo Stamps.

I created a slide out card to write my thank you.

In true "Mama" fashion, I purposely hid part of his face.  See, even he prefers to be anonymous!  :)

And this is the inside . . . the sentiment was typed up on my computer.

I hope the girls will or did enjoy a treat on me to Yogurtland!  :)  Thanks so much ladies!  You are the BEST!!!!

Halloween Treat Bags

These Halloween Treat Bags were made for my son's classmates.  I only made 20 of these, enough for his class.  I didn't make bags for the other classmates that he shares a classroom with . . . why?  I only had 20 bags.  I purchased these already cut boxes & ready to assemble from Joy of Tamiko's.  I bought them while attending  the Island Girls Social #2 back in August.  See . . . I'm always try to plan ahead and make life easier for myself.  Sometimes it doesn't happen that way, but I try.

I stamped and colored the pumpkin and printed the sentiment on my computer.  The goody bag is pretty big and tall measuring around 3 x 6-1/2 inches.

Here's the side view of the treat bag . . .

Anyway, that's it for today.  I'll share with you a gift card holder that I made for some really sweet and special friends.  What?  Sharing again?  LOL!  :) I know, I know.  What the heck is the matter with me?  It's all been building up and I'm unleashing!  Hee, hee!  I suppose I'll be sharing a lot in the days to come so come back now!

Haunted House - Part 2

As promised . . . here are the other 2 Haunted Houses that I made recently.  This time I used my Penny Black Trick or Treat set and added some spiderweb to the rooftop.

Top view . . .

Side view . . .

Here is the second house in orange . . . instead of pumpkins wrapped around the house, I used my MS grass punch.  There are different windows on this one too!

Here's the house with the lid off.  It's pretty roomy inside for lots of goodies!  :)

I don't get the privilege of keeping these Haunted Houses, but at least I have pictures of them.  The houses were made for my son's teacher and another teacher that shares the same room.  Yes, 2 teachers . . . 40 students.  Anyway, I made some goody bags for my son's classmates and I'll share them with you in another post.

You're all probably wondering, "How in the world?"  I have so many different projects going on right now & I'm trying my best to finish them before my baby arrives.  I'm a planner so planning ahead really helped.   My Christmas project that I do every year to give to my family and close friends are almost completed.  I started that back in September.  My Halloween projects I can check off now.  My baby favors that I usually give out at the hospital are done . . . check!  And my last DT project is done . . . check!  Phew . . . maybe now I can relax a bit and twiddle my thumbs in anticipation.  :)  Ok, thanks for coming by!

Wintery Christmas Wishes . . .

Are you thinking about Christmas?  Halloween isn't quite here yet, but I've been seeing so many Christmas cards and projects popping up these days.  I have to admit, I started on my Christmas projects back in September and I'm still not done.  I'm getting there though.

I created a card today using La-La Land Crafts newly released Winter Marci.  She is such a sweetheart and I just luv her wintery outfit.

Here she is up close.  I added pearls for her buttons and snowflakes to the center of the flowers.

Well, I have an announcement to make.  I will be taking a leave from La-La Land Crafts Blog.  No, not for good . . . just a maternity leave.  :)  I'm hoping to continue to create for Irina and for La-La Land Crafts once things settle down and the family is in a routine.  So with that being said, I'm gonna do something a little special for my next weeks post and go out with a BANG!  Come back okay?  :)

Woooo . . . TFG Haunted House

OMGosh . . . I'm posting for fun and not for a Design Team.  Now that's amazing, well, to me anyways considering I'm waiting to welcome my "boss" into the world!  :)  I made this house some weeks ago but just never posted it.  I saw this house while visiting Patti's blog, Creations by Patti.  She creates some amazing projects, especially 3D ones which I luv.  When I saw her Haunted Houses, I just had to make one for myself.  I purchased the My Timeless Templates - Home Made from Papertrey Ink {HERE}.  This house can definitely hold a lot of goodies!  Sorry, I forgot to take a picture with the lid off.

I used the TGF SPOOKTACULAR set . . . the images were small enough to set behind my windows.   I decided to put a lot of details into the house to make it just the way I wanted it.  The tree was cut using my Cricut.   My Martha Stewart & EK Success punches really came in handy can't you tell?  The fence, the pumpkins, the webs.  I also embossed & distressed the rooftops, the tree and the house itself.

Here are the different angles of the house.

Wanna see more?  I made a couple more of these which I'll post later.  Instead of using the TGF set, I use some Penny Black Halloween images.  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Witches Brew

It's Saturday . . . I hope you enjoyed the La-La Land Crafts Blog Hop with our latest release of Caroling Luka, Santa Marci and Skating Marci

Now I can share with you my Witch Marci card.  I had her colored up and set in a card for a while now.  She had to be patient and wait her turn to be seen and here she is!  She is about to stir some Witch brew or some kind of magic potion.

Here's a close up . . . I added a beauty mark to Witch Marci's left check.  Well, Halloween is just around the corner and my kids are definitely getting excited about dressing up.

Be sure to check out the La-La Land Crafts Online Store!  Thanks for stoppin' in!  :)

Tamiko's Thursday Teasers - Altered CC Design Image with a Sketch Assignment

It's Thursday and time for another Teaser.  The CT has gotten SPECIAL permission by none other than Christine Wooden, to ALTER her CC Design images.   The ONLY thing we could alter was swapping the head and body of the images.  NO WIPING AWAY of the image was allowed.  A HUGE thank you to you Christine for allowing the team to try this with your wonderful images!  :)

Here is a sketch that we used to create our cards by Taylored Expressions

Here is my card using the head of Swiss Pixie Nora and the body of Shy Kiki La Rue.  I didn't follow the sketch exactly, but tried to somehow use the parts of the sketch to create a scene.

Can you see the Glossy Accents on the clouds?  Pop dots were used to give dimension to the grass.

And there she is . . . my altered CC Design image!

Thanks for stoppin' in today.  :)

***Please do not ALTER any of the CC Design images without proper permission from Christine Wooden.***

Super Star . . .

Yeah, that saying, "Super Star" reminds me of the Saturday Night Live spoof of Sister Mary Katherine Gallagher played by Molly Shannon.  But this is not what I'm referring to.  Here is Super Star Luka!  He is one of 2 Superheroes Irina has created.

See the window behind him?  That window and the sentiment is from the Super Hero Window Set.

He's perfect for creating a boy/masculine type card.  You can snag Super Star Luka or his sidekick, Super Cupcake Marci at the Online Store.

Thanks for coming by!  :)  Have a great weekend!
