Sending You Birthday Wishes!

Hello there!  I'm back with another card.  This card features Birthday Marci from La La Land Crafts new line, MARCI.   I've used a DP from Imaginisce. A ribbon that I purchased from Tamiko's went well with this card as well as adding some pearls.

Once in a while, I like to decorate the inside of the card. Most times I'm just to lazy to do it. Here's a place to write a special birthday wish.

Birthday Marci and a few other new images are set to be released in RUBBER on September 15th!  Be on the look out for that, but in the meantime, La La Land Crafts Store has been offering digis of these cuties so snag them now!  Cheerleader Marci is now available . . . check her out!

One last thing . . . to make room for the arrival of our new stamp line, there's a Storewide 25% OFF Sale on ALL of our previous designs*!!!! Stop by La-La Land Crafts Store today!  This is a great deal especially when combined with our FREE Shipping on orders over $50!! *sale price will be reflected in your Shopping Cart* (digis excluded)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!  :)

A Card 4 a Special Friend ~

I created a card for a "Special Friend" who's birthday was back in July.  I feel really, really bad for sending such a belated card . . . my "little" guy has taken over my body these days and has full control over HOW & WHEN I get to craft.  I was finally able to get this card done.  This is a Surprise Pop Up Card using 2 TGF images --- the head of Stella & the body of Tuesday.  You can find the tutorial on this card {HERE}.

This is what the card looks like when you pull the tab at the top.  The image pops up and there are 2 places you can hide messages in.

Here's the top view.

I created a flap on the back of this card so I could write my own message.  Sorry, no peeks of that, but I sure hope she enjoyed her birthday and that she'll enjoy this card!  :)

Island Girls Social #2 - FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Happy Sunday!  Wow, yesterday was a fun-filled day for me.  I attended Teri's (big Ideas From A Little Girl) Island Girls Social #2 & had a blast!  Thank you so much Teri for organizing and getting local, island girls together for some FUN, laughter, make 'n takes, and great food!  Thanks also to Joy, the proud owner of Tamiko's!  Joy and her family allowed us to SHOP and buy products she offers at her Online Store.  Better yet, we all got our craft stuff right there in our hands!  :)  Joy's hubby and son did a fantastic job MC-ing the event!  Great job!  Just want to add that Joy has a new personal blog called Things of Joy.  Check her out there and become a follower!

Teri is so good and is always looking for ways to help our community.  She set up a card contest where all those that participated made an A2 card in the colors of pink, green, and black . . . the colors of Tamiko's.  These cards were going to be donated to a local charity!  Awesome to give back and yet we all have fun creating from the heart.   Here is my card that I made for the contest.  I altered 2 TGF images, both you can get at Tamiko's Online Store --- the head of Friday and the body of Flirty Anya.  I created a Swing (Flip Flop) Card.  You can find the tutorial {HERE}.

Here's a snapshot as the card is slightly pulled apart.

There, now the image is on the reverse side and the back side is now appearing in the front.  This is where your sentiment or message would be.  Teri asked that we keep the cards sentiment-free.

Here's Flirty Friday on the backside of the card.

Did you notice that she's not wearing her earphones?  I totally wiped them away and drew in her hair.  Black Diamond Stickles was added to some stands of Fridays hair and to her polka dot dress and shoes.

Ok, that's it for me!  Yesterday was a long day for me and I'm not quite recuperated back to my normal self.  I'll be back to share another card I made for a special friend.  :)

Shall We Dance?

Happy Saturday everyone!  Hope you're all having a pleasant weekend thus far!  :)

Just in case you were wondering about my weekly post for La-La Land Crafts Weekly Wednesday Challenge, we have decided to change things up a bit.  There will no longer be challenges over at the LLLC Blog, but we have something new and fun!  Everyday, one of our DT's will post a card or project using our wonderful stamps and images.  And what is really exciting is that we now have a CUSTOMER GALLERY in which our customers can link their La-La creations.  Then once per month, we will have a CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY and award one customer with a prize!!  How cool is that?

Here's my card using Ballerina Marci

She is one of many images awaiting their debut!  Ballerina Marci was featured a couple of weeks ago during our Birthday Beach Bash and was available in digi.  If you want to get your hands on her, she'll soon be available in RUBBER very, very soon!  But in the meantime, you can snag Sweet Dreams Marci and Pirate Luka (a boy!) for a limited time only!  And yes, they'll be in RUBBER too!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Tamiko's Thursday Teasers - A Sketch Challenge!

Hey peeps!  It's the second week of Tamiko's Thursday Teasers!  Each week, the team will be treating you to different challenges --- color challenge, a sketch, 3-D, or a mixed plate of stuff!  :)  Come back each week and see for yourself.

Before I get on to the challenge and my card, there is more good news happening at Tamiko's!  A HUGE welcome to Joy who is now the Co-Creative Coordinator along side Teri!  Woot-woot Joy -- you'll do us proud!  And another shout out goes to Joni of Crafty Hula Hands.  She has joined the team and will bring a punch to the challenges!  Yay Joni . . . hugs to you!

Now, on to the challenge.  The team had to come up with something using this sketch . . .

Here's my take on the sketch.

I basically turned the sketch around and made a 4-1/4 x 6-1/2 size card.  Here's a closer look of Monday from the Creepy Crew series.  You can purchase her and her Creepy friends at Tamiko's Online Store.  With $25 or more of a purchase, shipping is FREE (only in the USA)!

Please be sure to check out all the CT's creations!  They've done a fabulous job, as always!  Thanks for stopping by!   :)

Tamiko's Color Challenge!

There are some exciting things happening over at Tamiko's.  Be sure to check back often as there will be some fun challenges!  First off, I'd like to say a fond farewell to dear Linda.   Luv'd her creativity and spunk!  And . . . Tamiko's has welcomed with open arms, CAMI!  Cami is such a wonderful, talented person and she is a perfect fit for the Creative Team!  :)  Last but not least, congratulations to Teri . . . she has taken on the responsibility of being Tamiko's Creative Coordinator!  Yay Teri!  :)

Now, on to our challenge.  Tamiko's has a color challenge this week . . . that is,  create a card in YELLOW, TURQUOISE, AND ORANGE!  This one was a bit challenging for me, but I think I pulled it off (well, at least I think I did.).  Here's my easel card using Anya from the SUNSHINE kit.  You can purchase the kit at the Tamiko's Online Store

I hope you'll be able to join us on this challenge!  Please be sure to visit the other CT's blogs to see their wonderful creations.  :)  Thanks so much for stopping by!

La-La Land's Weekly Wednesday Challenge 50 - Christmas!

Welcome to La-La Land Crafts Weekly Wednesday Challenge!  There are many changes taking place over at La-La Land.  We are saying farewell to Maureen who has been such an inspiration.  I wish you nothing but the best!  :)   Also, sadly this week's challenge will be the last challenge on the blog.  However, there will be more exciting things to come so stay tuned!  And lastly, you will be seeing more of the Marci images being featured and ready for purchase at the Online Store.  Right now, Marci Ballerina is avaiable in digi.

Not to mention a new addition . . . a BOY!  Meet Pirate Luka

He is another character to watch out for and he's also available in digi at the Online Store for this week only!  :)  Phew, that was a lot to soak in.

On to our challenge.  Our sweet hostess, KIM, has us making Christmas cards!  What a great idea since Christmas is not that far away.

Here's my card using Angel Lala

I used my Labels 8 nestie along with some pretty DP and a snowflake embossing vellum paper that I had in my stash from ages ago.

A closer look to see the sparkles and that little red bird.  I also used a teeny tiny snowflake stamp and heat embossed Angel Lala's dress.

Since Kim has used Sweet Rosie on her card, Sweet Rosie will be on sale for 20% off only for the week of this challenge.

I sure hope you will join us in our last challenge and please come back for the latest updates at La-La Land Crafts Blog!

I'm very excited to say that Irina has decided to share a new stamp with you in the "Marci line" & she will be available for ONE WEEK ONLY in our shop as a digi!  Introducing . . .

"Please tell us what stamp you'd like to see join the La-La Family!"

Hop along to the DTs blogs and then go back to the La-La Land Crafts Blog.   Leave & share your answer to the question, "Which stamp would you like to see join the La-La Land family?" Remember to leave comments along the way for your chance to win free stamps!!

On to my last card for the Birthday Bash.  I used Snorkel Sherman & created a Wiper Card minus the wiper.  Here's a tutorial that I used, click {HERE}.  I colored him with my copics and added white Fun Flock on his belly and inner ears.  If you look closely, Snorkel Sherman is literally swimming under the sea!  Here's what I did . . .

Instead of using hair gel like I've seen on some tutorials, I used straight up, WATER!  I added some light blue dew drops (added more dew drops after this picture was taken) & some glitter.

Here is a close up.  The sealed bag filled with water was place in front of the image.  A frame was created using my nesties.  I also cut out some of the items printed in the DP and popped them up on pop dots for more dimension.

Your next stop is KRISTINE!  Thanks so much or stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Remember to leave comments on all the blogs along the way because there's lots of "mystery party favors" to be given away!!

I used Beach Rosie for my card.  Yes, it is a card in the shape of a shell to match Rosie's shell.  I cut the shell shape using my Cricut & Paper Doll Dress Up Cartridge.

The sandcastle came from the Doodlecharms Cartridge.  I added a Pop Dot to allow the sandcastle to stand out in front of Beach Rosie.

I've listed the DT/Guest DTs and Alumni with links to their blogs.  Be sure to follow in that order!  :)

1LuvnMama - you are here!  :)

June OCS . . . Did I say JUNE?

Yes, I did say JUNE!   I having been participating in a One Card Swap formally headed by Teri, but now headed up by Linda & Kyoko.  If you want to participate in the August OCS, visit Linda's blog for the deets.

My partner for June was Kim Yu of Kimbee's Creations.  She sent me not one, but 2 cards.  One was a Thank You and the other was her OCS card.  I just luv them both!

Here's the Thank You card . . .

Now, here is Kim's OCS card.  It's an easel card with a pocket.  She is so creative and I luv, luv her use of colors & embellishments!  :)  Kim added some stamped Magnolia images for me in the pocket!

Check this out . . . not only did Kim send me her wonderful handmade cards, she crocheted these gorgeous flowers!  How can I ever use them . . . so pretty!  :)

Oh boy . . . now for the slap on the hand!  There's no excuse for my tardiness and I apologized like crazy!  Thanks Kim for being so understanding after sending my June, yes, June OCS card so late.  I had to make this X-TRA special . . . Kim is such a sweetheart with a giving spirit!  Here is the card I made for her using Creepy Crew - Wednesday.  She can be purchased at my friend's online store, Tamiko's.  Go check it out!

It's a T-Slide card that has been popping up on the blog scene.  Here's a tutorial on Splitcoaststampers, just click {HERE}.   I have the tab pulled part way in this photo.  The sentiment is hidden behind the flap/image.

This is what the pull tab exposes . . . the hidden sentiment.

I know Kim will enjoy this because I had so much fun making it.  And I had to play with this card a few times to try it out.  I literally had to stop myself from pulling the tab in and out . . . there was a fear that I would ruin it!

I've enjoyed playing in the OCS, but I do realize that my time is limited, especially since #3 is on his way in about 3 months.  I'm taking a break from the OCS for now since I have been battling major exhaustion with this pregnancy and crafting has somewhat taken a "backseat".  Thankfully, my Design Team responsibilities help me to stay "crafty" when I really don't feel like it.  A HUGE thanks to you for sticking with me in the past months.  I know I haven't posted nearly as much as I used to, but as Arnold Schwarzenegger says . . . I'LL BE BACK!!!  :)
