Celebrate . . .

It's that patriotic time of year here in the USA . . . the 4th of July!  We want to see your best 4th of July themed projects this week for our FFF over at the Farm Fresh Challenge Blog!  However, we don't want to leave out our non-American friends, so you are all welcomed to show your patriotic pride for whatever country you call home!  :)

Here's my patriotic card.  Do you recognize her?  I did a little altering and came up with my own Superstar Howdy Elena!  That's right . . . I took the head of Cheeky Howdy and wiped away the cherry pin that was in her hair and added the torso of Wild Sprout Elena.  The star glasses came from Superstar Anya

Quick question:  How do you celebrate the 4th of July?  If you do not reside in the USA, what do you celebrate and how do you celebrate that special event?

For our family, we usually stay home and BBQ hotdogs and hamburgers.  The kids really enjoy the sparklers, pop-pops, and firecrackers.  However, this year will be quite different.  There is a fireworks ban so I'm not sure what we'll do with the kids.  Oh, in the evening, we have the perfect view from our balcony . . . our family enjoys seeing the aerial shows and pyrotechnics!  We can see the beautiful fireworks from Magic Island (Ala Moana) to Pearl Harbor.  :)

Anyways, the FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> 4th of July.  Thanks for stoppin' by!  :)

  2. Cute card! It has the appearance of fireworks just bursting,an activity that will be missing this holiday.
We used to watch the fireworks displays but it's so crowded we prefer to stay away from the areas. You're lucky to be able to see the displays from your balcony.
    Happy 4th!

  3. Hi Mama!!! I LOVE UR CREATION!!! I think u just went wild with this girlie!! hehehe.. She's fabulous and gorgeous and so fun!! I love her jeans and red top and all the changes are so unique, I just love her! How lucky to be able to see all the fireworks and big show, that must be a wonderful sight indeed. If I lean over our porch rail I can probably see some of the sparklies from the Rose bowl, but then again we got our own fireworks show in our neighborhood (even tho it's banned). LOL.. Have a beautiful weekend and Mahalo for all ur wonderful comments, I am really enjoying them. hehehe.. HUGS!! ;)

  6. AWESOME alterations Mama, I love Superstar Wild Cheeky Elena! She looks so perfect for summer and all the fun of the 4th! Great mix of papers too, you really rocked this challenge! :)
For the 4th our town has a little festival with a Barbecue Chicken dinner put on by the Kiwanis club and then they have the watermelon eating and seed spitting contests and end it with a fireworks show. But I'll enjoy a family barbecue and maybe a game of black widow croquet or two and avoid all the tourists downtown. :)

  12. Great altering, Mama! So clever to mix and match different parts and create your own little image. I'm not a big fan of fireworks so I'm happy with the new ban--such a Scrooge, huh? Happy 4th!
